Giving Back while Receiving
Every day, 47 million people across the nation, including 14 million children, face food insecurity. These people often are forced to poor-quality diets with a lower intake of fruit and vegetables, and many food banks have reported that fresh produce is the hardest thing to acquire for their clients.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, people facing food insecurity face higher rates of diet-related chronic disease such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. Children who don’t receive proper nutrition are also at a higher risk of developmental problems and mental health concerns.
We GROW over 20 varieties of produce across four farm locations in Hunterdon County, totaling 423 acres.
