WE ARE COMMITTED TO

Eliminate Food Waste

The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates that 30 to 40% of the nation’s food supply goes to waste. This is why gleaning—the act of collecting extra produce from grocery stores and farms—is critical to our work. We glean both “off the farm” and “on the farm.” Off the farm gleaning is done by volunteers who rescue “not quite retail-perfect” produce from nine local grocery stores and deliver it to hunger relief agencies seven days a week, year-round. On the farm gleaning is done by volunteers who rescue excess produce from three local farm partners during the growing season.
