Bank of America’s Commitment to America’s Grow-a-Row and Food Access

By Bank of America New Jersey

Bank of America (BofA) has been working hand in hand with America’s Grow-a-Row (AGAR) for over a decade. BofA is one of the world’s leading financial institutions, serving individuals, small- and middle-market businesses, large corporations, and governments with a full range of banking, investment management and other financial and risk management products and services. BofA is committed to the people and economy of New Jersey – with over 10,000 employees in the state who have volunteered a collective 461k hours to local nonprofits and causes that support the economic mobility of our local communities, including AGAR.

BofA is committed to supporting economic opportunity for the individuals and communities we serve. One way we do this is by investing resources to support our communities and the issues affecting them. Numerous communities in the United States lack equitable access to resources necessary for healthier living. Our focus is on programs and organizations addressing economic and social factors that impact family stability and individual health, such as food access and nutrition. BofA has had hundreds of volunteers donate their time to AGAR over the years to help increase access to farm fresh produce for people in New Jersey and beyond, and has distributed more than $150 million nationally to help fight food insecurity since 2015.

AGAR’s Fresh Produce Initiative directly aligns with our focus on food access: Nutrition is key to a healthy life, and addressing food insecurity in this manner helps address our community’s critical health needs. By facilitating the availability of fresh produce, we can help alleviate financial burdens and empower individuals and families to allocate resources toward other critical needs, promoting economic mobility. AGAR’s impact across the state and beyond resonates with our aspirations to help address food insecurity. Our shared values for addressing food insecurity include supporting food access and availability for vulnerable populations, promoting food security and sustainability, encouraging community engagement and volunteerism, and fostering partnerships and collaborations to address social issues.

Your contribution can serve as a powerful catalyst for change and progress – whether you’re making a financial commitment or providing hands-on support on the farm. When you support AGAR, you’re investing in healthier communities and a brighter future for all. Your generosity can inspire others to join this vital cause, amplifying the impact and creating lasting benefits. If you’re looking for a cause that resonates with your organization’s values, consider what matters most to you and research organizations that align. Look at their track records to see how they use donations effectively, and engage with causes that reflect your organization’s beliefs; it will make every contribution feel more rewarding.

When we come together as a community to support initiatives like America’s Grow-a-Row, our combined efforts can achieve remarkable things that might be impossible alone. Collective action has the power to transform lives on a large scale, proving that when we unite behind common goals, our shared commitment is an unstoppable force for good. When we collaborate as a community, we share the responsibility for creating a lasting impact. By working together, we can address complex challenges and build a better world for generations to come.
