Our Commitment to Sustainable Farming

America’s Grow-a-Row owns and operates four farms in Hunterdon County totaling over 423 acres that are part of New Jersey’s Farmland Preservation Program. We are committed to being good stewards of the land and use sustainable farming practices that promote soil health, conserve water, and minimize chemical use on our farms.

We grow approximately 20 varieties of fruits and vegetables each season and are committed to keeping our farmland healthy and productive.

Prevent Soil Erosion

We cover our cropping fields to prevent soil erosion and retain moisture.

Crop Rotation

We rotate crops to preserve the nutrients and longevity of one of our greatest resources, soil.

We ensure that we are constantly utilizing all 250 tillable acres.

Water
Conservation

We use drip irrigation and plastic mulch to conserve as much water as we can.

Sustainable
Irrigation

We provide irrigation through additional pumps across more acreage to guard against drought.

Moisture
Preservation

We implement no-till practices to preserve soil moisture.

Composting

We utilize composting of leaves from local municipalities.

Integrated Pest Management

We employ Integrated Pest Management practices to minimize applications.

Bee’ing all we can Bee.

In 2021, we implemented a bee pollination program utilizing 10 hives with a total of 100,000 bees to boost the production of our apple trees. In the first year, yields were up 115%. We now have 30 hives and at the peak of production we have 3M bees. This augments our sustainable farming practices as we are yielding more produce from the same acreage.
